Watching your baby suffer is one of the hardest parts of motherhood.
And teething? It’s one of those things you know has to happen — but you’d do anything to make it easier for them.
Hi mama,
The first two teeth Ollie had were the hardest. Back then, he wasn’t used to a dummy, so we didn’t even have that little bit of soothing comfort to offer. It was tough — for him and for me.
Now it’s a little better. He’s used to his dummy and finds comfort in it, but teething still means irritability, itchy gums, and lots of tears. And honestly? Sometimes mine too.
I’m not a big fan of using medication for something that’s naturally uncomfortable but not dangerous. Babies have been teething since forever, and it’s a milestone we all go through. So for us, it’s all about natural soothing.
What helps?
-
Teething toys – especially the Baby Ollie “ChewBloom” Teether Rattle, which keeps his hands and mouth busy.
-
Frozen milk “ice cream” – a treat and a relief at the same time.
-
The dummy – thanks to our Baby Ollie “CalmiThumb” Silicone Pacifier, he has that extra little comfort.
It’s not easy, and there are some long nights and lots of cuddles, but I remind myself: we’ve done it before, we can do it again.
Teething might be hard, but it’s just another season — and like every season of motherhood, it will pass.
With love (and sore gums all around),
Renata (Ollie’s mum)💛
