Hi mama,
Before I had a baby, I thought laundry was… well, just laundry.
You do a load, fold, put it away, done.
Then Ollie came along.
Suddenly, I was doing laundry like it was an Olympic sport. Every. Single. Day.
And you know what? It still felt like it was never-ending.
It Gets Better… Kinda
Sure, it’s not like those newborn days anymore. No more insane blowouts that defy gravity (thank goodness) — but baby laundry still piles up. Now it’s daily spit-ups, surprise food splashes, and the occasional “Oops… yep, that’s vomit.” Even on good days, it’s at least two outfit changes for Ollie.
And Then There’s Our Laundry
What no one warns you about? Your own clothes double in volume too.
Because babies use parents like their personal napkins.
They wipe their mouths on us, sneeze in our faces, and those sweaty marathon house walks while holding a 12kg baby? Yeah… that shirt’s going in the wash too.
Don’t Forget Towels
Ollie also has a thing with towels after his showers — he pees. Not every time, but often enough that those towels end up in the laundry pile too. 🤦♀️
So yeah… baby laundry feels never-ending because it kind of is.
But hey, one day (probably when he’s a teenager and doing his own laundry), I’ll look back and laugh. For now, I’m just grateful for anything that helps — like soft, absorbent towels and Baby Ollie “SnuggleTails” Cartoon Hooded Bath Towel that survive daily washes without falling apart.
Because if the laundry’s going to keep coming… at least I want the good stuff to handle it.
From the land of endless laundry,
Renata (Ollie’s mum) 💛
